Backstory
Born Anji Relanah, her family ran a small clinic, helping injured persons in need of aid in Alah Mhigo during the Mad King Theodoric's reign. During the conflict, they met a young Elezen boy who was mute and seemed to suffer from amnesia, for he had no idea who he was or why he was there. After hours of searching for his family or any information on him to find nothing, Anji's father Beli'tan welcomed him into their family. Despite being young, Anji worked hard to learn Eorzean Sign Language to communicate with him, and the two became very close. However, when he regained his identity and memories, he tearfully parted ways with the Relanahs. In the Summers to come, Anji's parents start to become distant toward each other until one day, her and her siblings find out that her mother had fled in silence during the night.Years later, Lyon DeRune, having fully recovered from his amnesia, reunites with Anji out of chance in The Shroud as she was gathering herbs for her father, who had since moved his clinic to Gridania after fleeing Ala Mhigo. As time passed, Lyon and Anji fell in love, but when Beli'tan fervently expressed his disapproval, they fled to Ishgard, where his grandfather, Enoix DeRune, presented her with an ultimatum: If she could master the ways of red magic, they would allow her to marry Lyon. If she could not, she either had to break off the engagement or they would both be disowned. She agrees to try, and he takes her on as his student.As her technique and mastery reached a certain level, Lyon and Anji were given permission to finalize their Eternal Bonding ceremony. At her reception, Anji underwent a small ceremony to indoctrinate her as a Red Mage and given the DeRune family crest as a symbol of her hard work and dedication.Both Lyon and Anji fought side by side during The Battle of Carteneau, where Lyon was shot by a Garlean sniper, the bullet piercing his chest and embedding itself into Anji's shoulder. As she lied there bleeding out, she held onto his hand before losing consciousness.Despite the death of her husband, Anji still keeps in contact with her in-laws, whom she is still very close with. In an unhealthy effort to deal with her grief, Anji frequently fought in the Coliseum, earning her nickname Anji the Red after her brutal and perhaps a little barbaric tactics won her a tournament. Alcohol was her best friend, and it took an intervention from the DeRunes to get her to see reason.Now, Anji has started back on the path of dealing with her grief in a healthier way, stopping to help people in need along the way, though deep down she longs to find the identity of the Garlean sniper that murdered Lyon....

Those that know The Crimson Duelists may know Enoix DeRune, the patriarch of the DeRune family, who served in aiding the people of Ala Mhigo during the Ala Mhigan Civil War in order to prevent Garlemald from occupying the territory. Although not blood-related to the DeRune family, Anji typically bears some piece of clothing with the family crest; a rapier with roses on the hilt and thorns wrapping around the blade. (Rare. - I don't mind slice of life, but if it's all that is happening, I find that it tends to get stale very quickly.- Communication is KEY. If I get no communication for weeks on end, I will leave.- I typically prefer Discord RP for longer scenes, but I'm willing to try in-game RP.
